Dr. Mark Abinante began his career as an entrepreneur at the age of 10, rising at 4:30am every morning to run his business, earning $1000 his first year and $2000 his second year. By age 12 he had hundreds of dollars invested in silver and rare coins. Throughout his high school years, he continued to build and run his business profitably while filling notebooks with ideas for future technology improvements and inventions. While at the Massachusetts Institutes of Technology, where he earned his B.S. in physics in 1989, Mark developed a manufacturing technique that greatly enhanced the magnetic properties of today’s strongest permanent magnets. He was awarded a full scholarship to pursue advanced studies at UCLA, where he received a Ph.D. in physics in 1996 to accolades of “this is the strongest candidate to come out of our department in many, many years.” He has been the creative force behind numerous inventions since then and holds four U.S. and three international patents. For the past 25 years, Mark has married his technological, entrepreneurial and business management savvy to help companies and institutions grow their business, cut waste, advance their technology and increase efficiency and profitability. Today, he is CFO of Terracelum, Inc. a capital management company focused on investing in new business and real estate partnerships.
